Accretion scenario of MAXI J1820+070 during 2018 outbursts with multimission observations

چکیده

We present a comprehensive spectral and temporal study of the black hole X-ray transient MAXI J1820+070 during its outbursts in 2018 using Swift/XRT, NICER, NuSTAR AstroSat observations. The Swift/XRT NICER shows plateau light curve with softening (hardness changes from $\sim$ $2.5$ to $2$) followed by gradual decline without first outburst. Also, modelling suggests that outburst is low/hard state throughout truncated disk whereas thermal emission dominates second During entire outburst, strong reflection signature (reflection fraction varies between $0.38 - 3.8$) observed simultaneous wideband (NICER-NuSTAR, XRT-NuSTAR, AstroSat) data due presence dynamically evolving corona. timing analysis Quasi-periodic Oscillation (QPO) signatures characteristic frequency increases (decreases) (decline) phase time understand reduction electron cooling timescale corona resonance oscillation local dynamical may explain above behavior source we propose possible scenario triggering associated accretion geometry source.

Outbursts of Irradiated Accretion Discs

I solve analytically the viscous evolution of a self–irradiated accretion disc, as seen during outbursts of soft X–ray transients. The solutions predict steep power–law X– ray decays LX ∼ (1 + t/tvisc) , changing to LX ∼ (1 − t/t ′ visc ) at late times, where tvisc, t ′ visc are viscous timescales. These forms closely resemble the approximate exponential and linear decays inferred by King and R...

Accretion-powered Millisecond Pulsar Outbursts

The population of accretion-powered millisecond pulsars (AMSPs) has grown rapidly over the last four years, with the discovery of six new examples to bring the total sample to seven. While the first six discovered are transients active for a few weeks every two or more years, the most recently-discovered source HETE J1900.1−2455, has been active for more than 8 months. We summarise the transien...

ADAFs, accretion discs and outbursts in compact binaries

I discuss the status of the Soft X-ray Transient model. First, I discuss and then compare with observations the assumption that the geometrically thin disc evaporates into an ADAF. Second, I address the problems created by the recent determinations of the distance to SS Cyg, according to which the Disc Instability Model does not apply to this famous dwarf-nova, thus casting doubt on the applica...

Photometric Observations of an SU UMa-type Dwarf Nova VW Coronae Borealis during Outbursts

We report the photometric observations of an SU UMa-type dwarf nova VW CrB during two superoutbursts in 2001 and 2003 and a normal outburst in 2003. Superhumps with a period of 0.07287(1) d were observed during the 2003 superoutburst. The change rate of the superhump period was positive. During the normal outburst, there are some hint of modulation up to a 0.2-mag amplitude. However, any period...

Observations of giant outbursts from Cygnus X-1

We present interplanetary network localization, spectral, and time history information for 7 episodes of exceptionally intense gamma-ray emission from Cygnus X-1. The outbursts occurred between 1995 and 2003, with durations up to ∼28000 seconds. The observed 15 300 keV peak fluxes and fluences reached 3 × 10−7 erg cm−2s−1 and 8 × 10−4 erg cm−2 respectively. By combining the triangulations of th...
